I am emptying the nest....

Welcome to Life After Mommy… the space for those mommys who are on the journey to mom as their children are growing up and do not require all of their attention. This is a stage of life that I am currently in and my goal is to share that time with you and learn to navigate this new adventure of an empty nest. What do we do now?

I have found myself looking inward to figure this out. What is the next stage of my life going to look like since my kids just don’t need me as much as they used to? My kids are 23, 21, and 17. The older two are out of the home pursuing their own dreams and goals. The youngest is in high school and although he still lives at home and requires some attention, as we know it is not as much as when he was little. It leaves time to be still and look at life. It allows time to realize that your life is quickly changing and you really don’t know what is going to happen or what you are going to focus on.

I want us to feel like we are doing life together so please be interactive. This is a point of life in which we may feel vulnerable and a little lost. Let’s work together to make this a safe place to share ideas, concerns about emptying the nest, and to build relationships. I am excited to get to know everyone!
